Privacy

Mochi collects nothing about you. No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics.

What stays on your device

Everything you write in Mochi (habits, tasks, slots, deadlines, budget, journal, conversations, files) is saved on your Mac or iPhone, and nowhere else. The developer has no access to it.

When you link your devices, or a friend

If you link your iPhone to your Mac, or share a habit with a friend using an invitation code, the data involved goes through Apple's servers (CloudKit). It is encrypted with a key derived from your code before it leaves your device: without the code, neither Apple nor the developer can read it. The code itself is never sent. None of your iCloud storage is used. To keep things in sync quickly, Apple may wake the iPhone with a silent notification, which contains none of your data.

What travels between the Mac and the iPhone is limited to what the iPhone shows and changes: habits, tasks, slots and deadlines. Not the budget, the journal, the conversations or the files.

Reminders (on iPhone)

Habit reminders are notifications prepared on your iPhone. Their times stay there and are sent nowhere.

The assistant (on Mac)

Mochi's assistant is only active if you add a key for an AI service yourself (Anthropic, NVIDIA, OpenAI…). Your messages then go directly from your Mac to that service, under its own terms. Mochi has no server in between.

Purchases (on iPhone)

The free trial and the purchase of Mochi Complete go through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; Mochi only learns whether the purchase exists, never who you are or how you paid.

Weather

If you enter a city for the morning weather (on Mac), Mochi queries Open-Meteo with that city's coordinates, without any identifier.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app erases everything it keeps on the device. A link between devices or with a friend is ended from Mochi's settings, which removes your part from the server.
